I’m kind of getting annoyed with new slang words. I feel as if there is little relation to meaning of slang words and the meanin of the actual word. Before, it was like, you take words that generally mean bad things and make that bad thing mean something good
example:
“OOh look at that guy, he’s bad” - meaning he’s cool.
“This hamburger is DANK!” (bc having a slightly moist hamburger = bad) meaning mm this burger is good
“I’m the shit” - meaning I’m so cool.
Or you would just morph a word into a cooler sounding word by adding izzle or eezie after something
examples:
“That’s my beezie” - meaning that’s my bitch (that’s a great friend of mine)
“It was off the shizzle” - it was off the shit (it was really cool)
At least slang like that is easier to understand. Maybe I’m just mad and biased because of one current slang word. I can’t think of any other slang words at the moment that annoy me as much as this one.
BASED.
I’m sick and tired of seeing everyone call themselves a based god. First of all, if you believe in God in a christian or catholic sense (please any other religions don’t bitch at me for saying this, as this particular point only applies to people who believe) you wouldn’t be calling yourself any kind of god. Second of all, the word based is supposed to mean being yourself. I just feel like the word and its meaning are slightly off. I can see where someone could relate the word based to meaning that, but I still feel like it would be pushing it or trying to hard.
Maybe it’s just me. I’m just saying it though because it was on my mind lol.
